50 Shot; 5 Dead

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – The staggering criminal violence in Democrat-run Chicago shows no reprieve after almost 50 people were shot and five died in a new wave of shootings over the past weekend.

The new police data shows that it’s “same old, same old” with respect to shooting violence in the Windy City under its new leftist Mayor Brandon Johnson, just like it was under his radical woke predecessor Lori Lightfoot.

A total of 47 Chicagoans were injured in shootings Friday into Saturday night, five of them fatally, according to law enforcement information reported by ABC 7 and The Chicago Sun-Times, cited by Breitbart News.

The shooting homicide occurred at about 10:20 p.m. on Friday when two men “pulled guns on each other “in the 2600-block of West Luther Street.”

One of them, who turned to be 61, received a gunshot wound to the head and was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

Another shooting death over the weekend occurred in Auburn Gresham when a 28-year-old man was shot in the face at around 8 p.m. on Saturday and died as a result.

Yet another incident, which happened at about 1:45 p.m. on Sunday, was a drive-by shooting.

A shooter opened fire from a vehicle on a couple walking “in the 1300-block of West Devon Avenue.”

A 30-year-old man was killed with ten gunshot wounds – he was pronounced dead at a hospital, while a 20-year-old woman survived.

In a similar shooting attack in Chicago’s Lawndale neighborhood, multiple criminals emerged from a Jeep and started firing on a group of women just before 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

One attacked woman was shot and killed, while eight others were wounded.

The fifth Chicago shooting murder was also in a drive-by hit over the weekend. It happened at around 5 p.m. on Sunday on the “6400 block of South Albany Avenue.

A 66-year-old man in the street was shot in the chest by a person in a vehicle after a verbal exchange. The victim was taken to hospital but passed away.

Police data shows 342 people were murdered in Chicago in the first half of 2023.
