
(TheRedAlertNews.com) – HAPPENING NOW: At least 52 people were shot across Chicago in the latest bout of weekend shootings on Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s watch, and at least seven have lost their lives.
According to The Chicago Sun-Times, a total of 397 people have been killed in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s city between January 1, 2022, and August 6. The number has now surpassed 400 with the latest shooting deaths.
At least three of those who suffered firearm wounds in the Windy City between 5 pm on Friday and 5 am on Monday were underage, CBS News reported.
The past weekend’s first fatal shooting in Chicago was registered at about 2 am on Saturday when a 29-year-old male was shot on the Red Line at 79th Street and died later in hospital.
Shortly after that, at 3:15 on Saturday, there was a second shooting death, which occurred in a parking lot in the West Chatham neighborhood’s 200-block of West 87th Street.
A 26-year-old man, who was with a group of people, was shot in the chest and passed away in hospital shortly after that.
At about the same time, at 3:20 am, another 29-year-old male was gunned down in a parking lot in a drive-by shooting in Chicago’s 400-block of South Clark Street.
In the early Saturday afternoon, shortly before 2 pm, a 41-year-old man was fatally shot “in the 2600 block of South Tripp” in the city’s fourth shooting death over the past weekend.
In a shooting at about 10:15 pm on Friday, two 17-year-olds got injured in a shooting on the sidewalk in the 3900 block of South King Drive. Both got away with relatively mild injuries.
In another case, two teen boys – aged 15 and 16 – were walking on a sidewalk when they were shot by a man who approached on foot and started firing. Both victims were hospitalized in stable condition.
