ALERT: Deadly Mass Shooting at Hospital; Manhunt Underway

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – BREAKING NEWS ALERT: According to law enforcement authorities on Wednesday, a suspected shooter remains at large in Atlanta following a mass shooting incident in which at least one person was killed and four others injured.

The shooting took place around noon inside a building located on West Peachtree Street between 12th and 13th Streets, as reported by the Atlanta Police Department.

The police confirmed that “multiple people” were injured and later updated that at least four individuals were taken to a hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, a fifth person was declared dead at the site of the incident.

No information regarding the victims or the severity of their injuries was immediately available.

The suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Deion Patterson. Authorities warned the public to call 911 and not to approach him, as he is considered armed and dangerous.

The department tweeted that no additional shots have been fired since the initial event.

Numerous police and emergency vehicles were present at the scene as the search for the suspect continued.

Police advised people in the area to secure their buildings and take shelter while urging others not nearby to stay away.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens stated that he is in close contact with the police and encouraged those in the area to take shelter.

The shelter-in-place order has since been lifted, although no further details were provided as to why.

Northside Hospital announced via social media that they were cooperating with law enforcement regarding the shooting at their midtown Atlanta location.

Dr. Robert Jensen, the hospital’s chief medical officer, said four adult victims were brought to the facility, three in critical condition and one still in the emergency department.

He also mentioned that visitors were not permitted in the hospital during the mass casualty event, but that restriction has now been lifted.
