(TheRedAlertNews.com) – BREAKING NOW: Just minutes ago, U.S. District Court Judge Tanya S. Chutkan demanded that Donald Trump answer Special Counsel Jack Smith’s plea for a protective order by Monday evening.
The order is associated with an indictment that Smith presented against Trump, accusing him of criminal attempts to reverse the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.
In a succinct directive, Judge Chutkan gave Trump until 5 p.m. on Monday to reply to Smith’s filing.
Chutkan wrote, “If Defendant disagrees with any portion of the government’s proposed Protective Order, his response shall include a revised version of that Protective Order with any modifications in red line.”
In his request issued on Friday night, Smith asked for the order citing that Trump might divulge sensitive case information via social media. This appeal was made after Trump’s post on Truth Social, which read, “IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I’M COMING AFTER YOU!”.
This week, Smith issued new criminal indictments to Trump, claiming that the former president circulated “knowingly false” accusations of electoral fraud to cling to power following his 2020 defeat.
Smith stated in his filing last night, “If the defendant were to begin issuing public posts using details — or, for example, grand jury transcripts— obtained in discovery here, it could have a harmful chilling effect on witnesses or adversely affect the fair administration of justice in this case.”
