ALERT: Manhunt Underway for Mass Shooter

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – BREAKING NEWS ALERT: Police and Texas Rangers are currently searching for a 39-year-old suspect who is accused of shooting an 8-year-old child and four other neighbors in Cleveland, a town about 45 miles north of Houston.

San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers announced on Saturday morning that authorities are still looking for the armed Texas man who used an AR-style rifle during the incident. The suspect began shooting at his neighbors after they requested that he stop firing rounds in his yard, as they were trying to sleep.

Although the suspect’s identity was not disclosed, Judge John Wells has issued an arrest warrant and set a $5 million bond. Sheriff Capers posted an update about the situation on the sheriff’s office’s Facebook page and asked residents in the area to stay away due to the heavy police presence.

According to Capers, there were 10 people in the house at the time of the shooting. Four were found dead at the scene, and the 8-year-old child later died at the hospital. Three other victims were transported to the hospital, but their conditions remain unknown.

Two of the victims, both Honduran women, were found covering two children inside the house in an effort to protect them. Two additional individuals were evaluated at the scene and released.

The conflict began when family members approached the suspect’s fence and asked him to stop shooting. The suspect replied that it was his property, and later approached their front door with the rifle. A video of this was captured by one of the residents.

Three of the victims were women, and one was a man. Their names have not been released, but they were between the ages of 8 and 40. Authorities had previously visited the suspect’s home due to concerns about him shooting his gun in the yard.

Some of the victims had recently moved from Houston, but it is unclear whether they planned to stay in the house.
