(TheRedAlertNews.com) – Americans will forever debate what took place and why during the riot at the United States Capitol complex on January 6, 2021, in Washington, DC. In fact, at this time, multiple investigations are being conducted by federal law enforcement agencies and a Select Congressional Committee appointed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif).
However, even as those investigations continue (as those who watch the news closely know, the Select Congressional Committee has recently served subpoenas for documents and testimony on numerous individuals closely associated with former President Donald J. Trump and his political operation) and debate between the political left and right about what took place that day rages on, individuals who participated in the riot are being arrested, prosecuted, and if found guilty, sentenced.

One such guilty verdict was just entered when a defendant from Florida stood before a judge and admitted his guilt. And while there has been an outpouring of sympathy for a significant number of individuals who were arrested for being at or inside the Capitol on January 6th, there will be little sympathy for this defendant – now convicted – for he admitted to several instances of assaulting police officers on that day. Specifically, assaulting U.S. Capitol Police officers and Metropolitan Police Department officers with a wooden plank, then discharging a fire extinguisher in their faces, and throwing the extinguisher at the officers during one of the most heated battles that took place in one of the archways that leads into the Capitol.
Given those intentional acts of assault on police officers by 54-year-old Robert Scott Palmer, most Americans will shed no tears when he is sentenced. After all, true patriots back our men and women in blue against thugs like Palmer.
