Thinking she is the Democrats’ only option going forward, a leftist pollster just crowned Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as her party’s future standard-bearer for 2028.
Nate Silver and colleague Galen Druke have anointed the radical New York congresswoman as their top pick to lead the Democrat ticket, signaling the party’s continued slide toward socialism.
In a revealing video and newsletter published on his “Silver Bulletin” Substack, Silver did not hold back his enthusiasm for the self-described democrat socialist.
Silver and former FiveThirtyEight podcast host Druke both pointed to AOC’s supposed broad appeal.
Their analysis highlighted AOC’s reported high net favorability rating among Democrats according to a Yale poll—proving once again how far left the Democrat base has moved.
“I think she’s gonna run. If you’ve been following her moves in terms of her ‘Fight Oligarchy’ tour, in terms of the kind of content she’s putting out on social media,” Druke said.
“I think there’s a lot of points in her favor at this very moment,” he continued.
Silver doubled down on the AOC prediction, citing her media presence and progressive credentials as advantages in maintaining attention during a primary process.
He apparently believes her radical stances on eliminating private health insurance, defunding police, and advocating for open borders will not hurt her chances with mainstream voters.
Silver declared, “I agree with everything. She was going to be my first pick, and I can’t conceal that now, right? Because of some of the polling; because she has this kind of progressive lane, probably not to herself; because she is younger and media savvy.”
“I mean, look, in polls, if she were to try to primary Chuck Schumer, she is now ahead in those polls and New York Democrats are actually a pretty moderate bloc,” he added.
The pollster team attempted to spin AOC’s political evolution, suggesting that she is shifting from earlier, more controversial positions to a more economy-focused message.
While Silver and Druke tried to portray AOC as a rising star with crossover appeal, the congresswoman’s actual record speaks volumes.
Critics argue that her push for government control of healthcare and her support for job-killing environmental regulations and mass illegal immigration would devastate American families and small businesses.
Silver and Druke did mention Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro as another strong contender, followed by Kamala Harris and Senator Cory Booker as their third picks, respectively.
