In a horrific crime committed by a babysitter, the tragic death of a 3-year-old girl in Las Vegas has left the community in a state of shock and disbelief.

Her babysitter, Marketta Phillips, now stands accused of this unspeakable crime, triggering intense debate over the public safety standards for childcare.
The horrifying incident took place at the Villa Del Sol Apartment Homes while the girl’s father was at work.
Police said Phillips, aged 41, allegedly stabbed the toddler several times.
The father returned home to this heart-wrenching scene and immediately called 911 around 3:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, emergency responders rushed the child to Sunrise Hospital.
Unfortunately, their efforts couldn’t save her, and she was pronounced dead due to multiple stab wounds.
Law enforcement conducted a quick canvass of the area and apprehended Phillips not far from the crime scene.
She is charged with open murder and detained at the Clark County Detention Center.
