(TheRedAlertNews.com) – Finding a new way to prioritize global optics over domestic issues, lame-duck President Joe Biden has awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom with distinction to liberal Pope Francis, despite the pressing problems right here at home.

President Biden awarded Pope Francis the Presidential Medal of Freedom with distinction, marking the first time he has bestowed this honor during his presidency.
Traditionally reserved for those making significant contributions to peace and justice, the award remains a symbolic gesture rather than a tangible action addressing current US challenges.
Pope Francis, referred to as “the People’s Pope” by the White House, stands recognized for his global influence in promoting faith, hope, and love.
During the phone call announcing the award, Biden and Pope Francis discussed global peace efforts and support for vulnerable communities.
Yet, here in America, the relentless challenges of securing borders and addressing homelessness seem sidelined by such high-profile international gestures.
The White House described this award as being for someone with “a light of faith, hope, and love that shines brightly across the world.”
While noble, it’s vital that we reflect this radiance back home.
“Your humility and your grace are beyond words, and your love for all is unparalleled,” Biden stated regarding the honor recipient.
Despite praising Pope Francis’s commitment to humanity, one must question why Biden postponed a Vatican trip due to wildfires in California.
A quick phone call patched things up, discussing much-needed support for vulnerable communities.
It’s a discussion urgent in its own right, considering national crises affecting American citizens daily.
This medal comes with significant history; it is the first awarded with distinction since President Obama honored Biden with the same distinction.
Yet, neither award fulfills the promise of addressing national needs during turbulent times.

Instead, Biden continues honoring individuals like Hillary Clinton, Bono, and now Pope Francis, perhaps to distract from less favorable domestic narratives.
Pope Francis’s recognition does underscore his contributions to global humanitarian efforts.
Conservatives might argue Biden should prioritize tangible solutions for America’s persistent issues instead.
“The first pope from the Southern Hemisphere, Pope Francis is unlike any who came before. Above all, he is the People’s Pope — a light of faith, hope, and love that shines brightly across the world,” The White House said, cited by NBC News.
The award is given to those “who have made exemplary contributions to the prosperity, values, or security of the United States.”
Many conservatives feel that directly confronting domestic issues, serving and uplifting American citizens, is imperative now.
