Biden Calls For Assault Weapons Ban Following Nashville School Massacre

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – President Joe Biden issued a new call for banning “assault weapons” after a female trans shooter killed six people in a targeted attack on a Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee.

Three 9-year-old children and three adults were gunned down on Monday by a woman who “identified” as a man. Local authorities identified the shooter as 28-year-old Nashville resident Audrey Hale.

According to news accounts, the shooting at Covenant Presbyterian School, a private Christian institution, is the deadliest school shooting in the United States in nearly a year.

In the aftermath of the attack, a White House statement quoted Biden as calling upon Congress to pass a ban on what Democrats call “assault weapons.”

“We have to do more to stop gun violence. It’s ripping our communities apart. I call on Congress again to pass my assault weapons ban,” Biden stated at the White House. ”

According to the Nashville police, the shooter, who was herself gunned down by officers responding to the attack, was armed with a handgun and at least two semi-automatic rifles, Newsmax reported.

Besides prohibiting “assault weapons,” President Joe Biden has also insisted that Congress pass tighter gun sales restrictions.

The report notes the forecast of “key lawmakers” that any new laws on “gun safety” are “unlikely this year,” as the US House of Representatives is controlled by a GOP majority.

“How many more children have to be murdered before Republicans in Congress will step up and act to pass the assault weapons ban, to close loopholes in our background check system or to require the safe storage of guns?” declared Biden’s press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre before the White House issued the president’s brief statement.

On Tuesday morning, Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas said its former pastor, Chad Scruggs, lost his 9-year-old daughter Hallie in the Nashville school shooting.

According to Covenant Presbyterian School, one of the adult victims of the attack was its principal, and the other was a custodian.

The local authorities found that the 28-year-old woman who perpetrated the attack was a former student at the same school.

The police said shooter Audrey Hale had prepared the attack meticulously, drawing detailed maps of the school with its entry points.

The investigators have also discovered her writings which they are reviewing.

Averianna Patton, a former middle school basketball teammate of Hale, revealed that on Monday morning, the shooter had sent her a message on Instagram that she was about to die by suicide and it would be on the news.

“One day this will make more sense. I’ve left behind more than enough evidence behind. But something bad is about to happen,” Hale’s message stated, as cited by WTVF.
