(TheRedAlertNews.com) – President Joe Biden’s mind-blowing policy failures are no longer going unnoticed even by many on the left, as shown in a new poll in which most New York state residents declared the illegal immigrant invasion he brought upon the United States would “destroy” New York City.
More than 7 million illegal immigrants have entered the US since Biden took over the White House in January 2021. Many have ended up in Democrat-run jurisdictions such as New York and NYC, alarming their governments.
A new public opinion survey by Siena College demonstrates that a majority of New Yorkers are dissatisfied with President Biden’s handling of the migrant crisis, attributing to him the responsibility for the escalating situation that poses national security, financial, and other challenges in New York state.
The poll released Tuesday reveals that 64% of state residents are critical of Biden’s management of the recent surge in migrant arrivals as of October, Fox News reports.
This discontent spans across party lines, with 48% of Democrats, 91% of Republicans, and 72% of independents disapproving of Biden’s approach.
The survey also indicates that 46% of New Yorkers are critical of NYC Mayor Eric Adams’ response to the migrant influx, while only 30% approve.
New York’s Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul fares slightly better, with 52% disapproving and 37% approving of her handling of the situation.
“While other issues in Washington and abroad have largely driven the news cycle over the last few weeks, the influx of migrants to New York remains top of mind for voters, with 84% saying it’s a serious — 57% very serious — problem for the state,” comments Siena College pollster Steven Greenberg.
He noted the rare consensus across various demographics, with a vast majority acknowledging the seriousness of the migrant influx.
“The strong majority of voters last month who said by 22 points that New Yorkers must work to slow the flow of migrants rather than accept and assimilate them, has grown to an overwhelming 35-point majority today,” Greenberg added.
He said majorities among White, Black, and Latino voters worried migrants would ruin The Big Apple.
“While a plurality of New Yorkers do not approve of the job Adams is doing to address the influx of migrants, a 58-32% majority of New Yorkers — including a narrow plurality of Democrats — agree with Adams’ statement that ‘this issue will destroy New York City,’” the pollster revealed.
