Just moments ago, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-CO) took to her social media platforms to blast the Biden administration for the indefinite pre-trial incarceration many of those arrested for alleged criminal activity at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th are enduring and for those detainees being treated differently than BLM rioters.
Boebert believes those incarcerated are having their Sixth Amendment rights violated.
The Sixth Amendment to the United States Constitution reads:
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense.

I led ten of my colleagues in writing a letter to AG Merrick Garland asking him to address the treatment of these Americans versus the treatment of those who rioted in cities during BLM protests.
We need to have a justice system that treats all people equally before the law.
