BOMBSHELL Lab Leak Evidence

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – In bombshell new evidence that the devastating COVID-19 pandemic was caused by a lab leak in Communist China, an independent scientist with a business background, Dr. Steven Quay, presented an in-depth testimony to the Senate.

He supported the hypothesis that the coronavirus originated from a laboratory in Wuhan, China, National Review reports.

Dr. Quay, who authored a comprehensive Bayesian analysis concluding that the virus originated from a lab, spoke to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

He provided a thorough opening statement, dissecting the data that underpinned his belief that the virus emerged from the Wuhan laboratory.

Dr. Quay, holding a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and formerly part of the faculty at Stanford University School of Medicine, delineated “six approaches” that shaped his view that the virus emerged from a lab.

These included: the timing of the virus’s emergence around Wuhan, evidence from the wet market central to the natural-origin theory, research activities at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), the absence of evidence supporting a natural origin, the genomic sequence of the coronavirus, and specific characteristics of the virus’s early genomes.

After introducing each factor, Dr. Quay swiftly detailed significant points from his written testimony, arguing that the existing facts do not align with the natural-origin theory.

“These fourteen observations provide evidence the virus was spreading in Wuhan and outside Wuhan in the early fall of 2019, two to four months before the first case in the Hunan Seafood Market. All market cases have onset in December 2019, and thus are well after the outbreak began. This establishes the market is not the origin,” Dr. Quay stated, indicating the virus’s spread prior to its detection at a Wuhan wet market.

Dr. Quay then outlined the extensive evidence suggesting that the virus did not transition from a bat to another animal before infecting humans at the wet market.

He highlighted that the virus has yet to be identified in any wild animal despite extensive searching.

He also noted the efforts by Beijing to obscure crucial information from investigators, pointing out that the Wuhan lab’s virus database was removed from online access in September 2019 and the government’s refusal to make it available, suggesting culpability.

“Fifth, the genome of SARS-CoV-2 has seven features that would be expected to be found in a virus constructed in a laboratory and which are not found in viruses from nature. The statistical probability of finding each feature in nature can be determined and the combined probability that SARS2 came from nature is less than one in a billion,” Dr. Quay emphasized, before elaborating on the genome characteristics.

He concluded his opening statement with a warning about potentially hazardous research related to a MERS virus at the Wuhan lab.
