(TheRedAlertNews.com) – Happening Now: During an interview with Lester Holt of NBC, President Joe Biden warned any Americans in Ukraine to leave immediately for fear that war will soon erupt there if Russian President Vladimir Putin sends his troops that are massing on the border between the two countries into Ukraine.
Biden also made it clear that he will not use American military forces to rescue Americans who remain in Ukraine if war does come to that country.
According to CNBC:
“President Joe Biden has issued a warning that U.S. citizens should leave Ukraine immediately as tensions with Russia over its military activity continue to intensify.
“‘American citizens should leave. … Leave now,’ Biden told NBC News’ Lester Holt on Thursday night. ‘We’re dealing with one of the largest armies in the world. This is a very different situation, and things could go crazy quickly.’” [emphasis added]
As for using American military power to rescue Americans who do not leave or any other circumstance, Biden had an additional warning.
“Despite the mounting tensions, Biden on Thursday ruled out sending U.S. troops into Ukraine, saying there was no scenario in which he could see this happening.
“That’s a world war when Americans and Russians start shooting at one another, we’re in a very different world than we’ve ever been in,” he said.
“Biden added that it would be difficult to position troops in Ukraine even for the purpose of evacuating U.S. citizens.
“‘How do you do that? How do you even find them?’ he said. ‘I’m hoping that if [Russian President Vladimir Putin is] foolish enough to go in, he’s smart enough not to do anything that would negatively impact on American citizens.’” [emphasis added]
Given what happened in Afghanistan and Biden’s determination not to get the United States entangled in another war while he’s president, it seems clear that he will not use American military forces under any circumstances in Ukraine.
Therefore, military analysts say Putin has essentially been given the green flag to take Ukraine if he desires.
