Breaking: Cheney Is Out – Wyoming GOP Won’t Recognize Her

Rep. Liz Cheney

( – Happening Now: In the latest act of retribution and punishment for her having voted to impeach former President Donald J. Trump and joining House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s hand-picked House Select Committee that is investigating the riot that took place on January 6th at the United States Capitol Complex in Washington, DC, the Wyoming Republican Party voted to stop recognizing Rep. Liz Cheney as a member of the Republican Party.

According to the Associated Press, the central committee of the state Republican Party voted 31-29 to no longer recognize Cheney as a member of the GOP.

Because of its small population, Cheney currently represents the entire state of Wyoming. However, like all members of Congress, she is up for re-election next year. Political observers in Wyoming indicate that at this point, she is highly unpopular with the base of the GOP and will have an uphill climb to win re-election.

Trump has already announced his support for Harriet Hageman, a Republican primary challenger to Cheney. Several other Republicans have also announced that they are tossing their political hats in the ring.

Because of its overwhelmingly conservative electorate, whoever wins the Republican primary is almost a lock to win the general election.

In defense of Cheney, Jeremy Adler, a Cheney spokesman, told The Hill publication, “It’s laughable to suggest Liz is anything but a committed conservative Republican. She is bound by her oath to the Constitution. Sadly, a portion of the Wyoming GOP leadership has abandoned that fundamental principle, and instead allowed themselves to be held hostage to the lies of a dangerous and irrational man.”
