Officials found Kaczynski deceased in his prison cell on a Saturday morning. He was 81 years old.
Initially, Kaczynski was confined in a high-security prison in Colorado.
However, due to his declining health, he was transferred to a healthcare facility in North Carolina in December 2021.
For nearly two decades, Kaczynski evaded capture, which has led many to regard him as the most persistent bomber in the history of the United States.
Besides causing three fatalities, his homemade bombs also injured about 24 people.
Kaczynski’s unlawful activities ended in 1996 when his brother became suspicious of his actions and informed the authorities, leading to his arrest.
