BREAKING: Legendary Actor Passes Away

BREAKING NEWS

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – James Earl Jones, an award-winning actor celebrated for his distinctive voice roles, including Darth Vader in the “Star Wars” series, has passed away at the age of 93.

Jones died at his residence in Dutchess County, New York, with his family by his side, according to a statement from his representative to Fox News.

His other notable films include “Coming to America,” “Field of Dreams,” and “The Hunt for Red October.”

During his illustrious career, Jones achieved the rare EGOT status, earning him an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony—two Primetime Emmy Awards, one Grammy Award, and three Tony Awards.

Although he never clinched a competitive Oscar, he was awarded an Honorary Academy Award by Sir Ben Kingsley.

Kevin Costner, who co-starred with Jones in “Field of Dreams,” expressed his sorrow on social media.

“Just hearing the news of James Earl Jones’s passing. That booming voice. That quiet strength. The kindness that he radiated. So much can be said about his legacy, so I’ll just say how thankful I am that part of it includes Field of Dreams. If you’ve seen it, you know that this movie wouldn’t be the same with anyone else in his role. Only he could bring that kind of magic to a movie about baseball and a corn field in Iowa. I’m grateful to have been a witness to him making that magic happen. Rest in peace, friend,” Costner wrote.

Jones began his acting career in the theater in the early 1950s, rapidly becoming acclaimed for his Shakespearean roles such as “Othello,” “King Lear,” Oberon in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” and Claudius in “Hamlet.”

He won two of his four Tony Award nominations for best actor with his roles in “The Great White Hope” in 1969 and “Fences” in 1987, and was honored with a special Tony Award in 2017.

Jones made his film debut in Stanley Kubrick’s “Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb” in 1964.

He became widely recognized for his portrayal of Darth Vader, voicing the character in “Star Wars” in 1977 and its sequels “The Empire Strikes Back” in 1980 and “Return of the Jedi” in 1983.

His extensive filmography also includes successes such as “Conan the Barbarian,” “Coming to America,” “The Sandlot,” “Patriot Games,” and “Clear and Present Danger.”

He was nominated for an Oscar for outstanding lead actor for his performance in “The Great White Hope” and received an honorary Oscar in 2012.

Additionally, Jones was a two-time Emmy winner and was nominated eight times.
