Breaking News: ‘Rare but Serious’ COVID Vaccine Risk

Breaking News

( – BREAKING NOW: An urgent warning is going out from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) about the COVID-19 vaccine developed and distributed by Johnson & Johnson.

The FDA is strictly limiting who can obtain the J&J vaccine due to a “rare but serious” risk of blood clots.

According to the government agency, the vaccine should only be given to adults who, for one reason or another, are unable to obtain a vaccine from one of the other pharmaceutical manufacturers or who specifically request the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

For several months, regulators have recommended Americans use the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines instead of Johnson & Johnson.

Now, the U.S. government is going further and officially placing restrictions on the J&J COVID-19 vaccine it produces.

United States government officials said in a statement that they made the decision to restrict Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine after reexamining medical data related to the risk of life-threatening blood clots within two weeks of receiving the J&J vaccination.

As far back as December, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggested that the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines be given priority over Johnson & Johnson’s because of concerns over medical risks associated with the J&J product.
