Breaking Now: Bye-Bye CNN+

CNN+ Fails

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – BREAKING NOW: The mainstream corporate media has suffered another significant loss.

In what must be a record for the shortest lifespan of a multi-million dollar media endeavor, CNN+ has been terminated less than a month after starting.

Just a while ago, the entire staff of CNN+ was called together to receive the news from the new CEO of CNN, Chris Licht.

Because no one likes to admit when they’ve been part of a total failure and unmitigated disaster, Licht attempted to spin the demise of the streaming service.

According to The Verge, Licht wrote in a memo to the CNN+ staff that the decision “is not a reflection of the quality of the talent and content at CNN+, some of which will migrate to CNN’s programming or some of the company’s other networks.” The decision, he claimed, was about a broader strategy. “In a complex streaming market, consumers want simplicity and an all-in service, which provides a better experience and more value than stand-alone offerings.”

That sounds nice and may have soothed some egos, but the reality is fewer than 10,000 people were using CNN+ on a daily basis.

There was no comment immediately available from Chris Wallace, who jumped ship from Fox News to be the new face of CNN+. Presumably, he’ll be given a role at regular CNN now, given that he has a multi-million dollar contract.
