Just moments ago, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) slapped down President Donald Trump’s demand that Congress increase the pending stimulus payments from $600 to $2,000.
Update: “Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blocked Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s Tuesday attempt to increase direct payments in the year-end coronavirus relief bill to $2,000,” according to CNBC…
“In a tweet Tuesday morning, the president called for ”$2,000 for our great people, not $600! They have suffered enough from the China Virus!!!”
This is a breaking story and will be updated as needed.
Please share your thoughts in the comment section on this page. Do you agree with Trump or McConnell? Should Americans receive $2,000 or $600? Or, do you believe there shouldn’t be any additional stimulus money to Americans?
