(TheRedAlertNews.com) – BREAKING NOW: In what appears to have been a well-executed and exceptionally daring raid, United States Special Forces successfully located and killed Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi.
Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi was an Iraqi Islamist and the second leader of the Islamic State. He was appointed the leader by a shura council on October 31, 2019, less than a week after the death of the previous leader, the notorious Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
According to The Washington Post:
“President Biden declared that ‘this horrible terrorist leader is no more’ as he spoke to the nation Thursday about a U.S. Special Operations counterterrorism mission overnight in northwestern Syria that killed Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi, the leader of the Islamic State militant group.
“‘Last night’s operation took a major terrorist leader off the battlefield, and it sent a strong message to terrorists around the world: We will come after you and find you,’ Biden said from the White House.
“Thirteen people were killed during the raid of an Islamic State safehouse in northwestern Syria, including children, local first responders said. No U.S. casualties were reported in the operation, in which U.S. forces destroyed a helicopter after it became disabled. Biden said the civilian casualties were caused when Qurayshi detonated a huge explosion that killed members of his family.”
