(TheRedAlertNews.com) – BREAKING NOW: Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was advised this morning that he is a target of the criminal investigation in Georgia that is examining whether Giuliani, former President Donald Trump, and potentially others attempted to get Georgia election officials to change the outcome of the 2020 Presidential Election results in that state by declaring Trump the winner instead of President Joe Biden.
A “target” has a legal meaning in federal investigations. A target is a person the prosecutor or Grand Jury has substantial evidence linking to the commission of a crime and who, in the prosecutor’s judgment, is a potential defendant.
Giuliani, who served as Trump’s private attorney during many of the post-election legal proceedings, is supposed to testify before a grand jury in Georgia today.
According to the New York Times:
“Lawyers for Rudolph W. Giuliani have been told that he is a target of a criminal investigation in Georgia into election interference by Donald J. Trump and his advisers, one of Mr. Giuliani’s lawyers said on Monday.
“Mr. Giuliani, who spearheaded efforts to keep Mr. Trump in power as his personal lawyer, emerged in recent weeks as a central figure in the inquiry being conducted by Fani T. Willis, the district attorney of Fulton County, Ga., which encompasses most of Atlanta. Earlier this summer, prosecutors questioned witnesses before a special grand jury about Mr. Giuliani’s appearances before state legislative panels in December 2020, when he spent hours peddling false conspiracy theories about secret suitcases of Democratic ballots and corrupted voting machines.” [emphasis added]
