DA SLAMS Border System – OUTRAGED!

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – An outraged Texas DA has rightfully fumed over the illegal immigrant invasion on President Joe Biden’s watch as she has made it clear she will seek the death penalty for two illegal aliens from Venezuela who brutally abused and murdered 12-year-old girl Jocelyn Nungaray.

Harris County’s Democrat District Attorney Kim Ogg criticized the inadequacies of the immigration system as the two migrants suspected of the murder were allowed to remain at large in the United States, monitored only with ankle bracelets.

“They should have never been released when they crossed over into El Paso, but we have a broken system and Jocelyn’s death resulted. And it’s just hard when you know something could have been prevented like a child’s death,” Kim Ogg stated in an interview with KPRC on Thursday, cited by The New York Post.

She highlighted the ineffectiveness of the ankle monitors. Both Johan Jose Martinez-Rangel, 21, and Franklin Jose Peña Ramos, 26, from Venezuela, who face capital murder charges, were equipped with GPS tracking devices when they illegally entered the U.S. earlier this year.

“Our immigration system, the border, has been broken for decades. Any Texan knows that. We’ve seen it for a long time here. What’s different is we’re seeing people from other countries, it’s not just immigrants from Mexico,” Ogg noted.

“We’re seeing immigrants from China, from the islands, from South America, like these individuals — that’s new. And I think it’s increasing the risk factor for regular people here. So I’m hoping our government will work together in a bipartisan fashion to keep the public safe by making our borders safer,” she added.

Shortly after Jocelyn’s murder on June 16, Peña Ramos removed his ankle monitor, which was later found by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), according to Homeland Security sources.

ICE removed Martinez-Rangel from the monitoring program, citing his lack of criminal history, the sources added.

According to allegations in court documents, Martinez-Rangel and Peña Ramos enticed Jocelyn to a secluded underpass after she left her home unnoticed the night she was murdered.

They reportedly assaulted her for two hours and left her partially unclothed.

Jocelyn was found with her limbs bound and her body bearing multiple cuts.

That evening, surveillance footage captured the two men accompanying Jocelyn to a 7-Eleven before leading her to the underpass, where her deceased body was subsequently discovered the following morning, as per authorities.

Peña Ramos and Martinez-Rangel are currently detained with a bond set at $10 million each.

Ogg expressed her intention to seek the death penalty, although she faces legal hurdles due to the victim’s age which necessitates additional evidence.
