The esteemed “Hell’s Kitchen” host, aged 57, disclosed on Saturday that his injuries required medical attention at a hospital following the accident in Connecticut.

“It really shook me,” he confided in a video uploaded to Instagram and X.

“Honestly, I’m lucky to be here,” he added, cited by USA Today.

In his social media update, Ramsay expressed relief that he had not sustained any fractures or serious injuries, although he noted he was “a bit bruised up looking like a purple potato.”

The video included a moment where he lifted his chef’s coat to display an extensive bruise encircling his torso.

While Ramsay provided few specifics regarding the incident, he acknowledged receiving treatment at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London.

He extended gratitude to the “incredible trauma surgeons, doctors, and nurses” responsible for his care.

Following a “brutal” week which left him in considerable discomfort, Ramsay also utilized the opportunity to emphasize the critical importance of helmet use during cycling.

He credited his helmet with preserving his life, asserting, “You’ve got to wear a helmet. I don’t care how short the journey is. I don’t care the fact that these helmets cost money. But they’re crucial.”

He also shared visual comparisons from before and after the mishap, highlighting the damaged state of his helmet.

The culinary titan received an outpouring of support on his Instagram post.

Fellow chef Nick DiGiovanni commented, “Wow − that’s really scary. Glad you’re okay.”

The enormity of Ramsay’s bruise also sparked reactions of astonishment from other followers.

“That is gnarly,” one remarked. “Glad you’re okay, chef.”

In a related note, actress Nina Dobrev, known for “The Vampire Diaries,” also shared her recent bicycle accident experience on Instagram.

Alongside before-and-after images — the initial showing her on an e-bike, and the latter in a hospital — Dobrev captioned, “How it started vs how it’s going.” She further noted in an Instagram story, “I’m OK but it’s going to be a long road of recovery ahead.”
