Feds Preparing Matt Gaetz’s Prison Cell?

United States Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL)

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – Will United States Representative Matt Gaetz, a Florida Republican who was elected with his father’s money and is well-known in Florida social circles as a party animal who prefers young women, soon be calling a federal penitentiary home? He will be if federal law enforcement authorities, who just obtained the sworn testimony of the congressman’s ex-girlfriend, have their way.

By all appearances, the legal jeopardy surrounding Gaetz just got far more profound than it was just a few hours ago.

As reported by The Hill:

“A former girlfriend of Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) testified before a federal grand jury on Wednesday as part of a sex crimes investigation into the congressman, according to NBC News.

“The House Republican is reportedly being investigated for several possible crimes, including obstruction of justice, the sex trafficking of a minor and violating the Mann Act, a federal law barring the transportation of prostitutes between states or countries, legal sources familiar with the investigation told the network.

“Gaetz’s former girlfriend, who has been in contact with prosecutors, may be providing testimony regarding allegations that the congressman paid a minor to have sex with him in 2017 and he and others violated a federal law that bans people paying for prostitutes overseas, according to NBC.” [emphasis added]

If these reports are accurate, according to legal experts with spoke with just minutes ago, it may well indicate that prosecutors are close to obtaining an indictment from the grand jury that would lead to the congressman being arrested.

A conviction on any of the charges is almost sure to result in a federal prison sentence.
