(TheRedAlertNews.com) – In a move that has former President Donald Trump as angry as anyone has ever seen him, Democrats in the United States House of Representatives are set to release Trump’s tax returns this week in what many observers believe is both unfair and designed to embarrass Trump rather than serve a legitimate oversight function on the part of Congress.
The House Ways and Means Committee is expected to release former President Donald Trump’s tax returns on Friday, according to a spokesperson for the committee.
These financial documents, which cover Trump’s four years in the White House, are expected to provide insight into his finances as he considers running for president again in 2024.
Last week, Democrats on the Ways and Means Committee released a report on Trump’s taxes showing that he paid little to no federal income taxes on his multimillion-dollar income from 2015 to 2022 while claiming millions in business losses.
According to the committee’s analysis, any lack of proper taxation on Trump’s earnings appeared to be the result of a failure on the part of the IRS rather than pressure or obfuscation from the White House.
Trump’s family of enterprises used various financial tactics, such as reported losses, foreign tax credits, deductions, and charitable donations, to offset taxation on profits, frequently reducing his tax requirements to small amounts, sometimes less than $1,000.
The committee claims that the IRS failed to audit Trump effectively while he was in office. Still, there is no evidence of collusion between the Trump administration and the IRS or any records of the former president pushing back against reviews of his tax information.
