(TheRedAlertNews.com) – In a new leftist outrage, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been found to have employed an illegal alien, Diego de la Vega, as Deputy Communication Director.

Recently returning to Colombia, de la Vega’s story raises crucial questions about how these appointments are possible without oversight.
Born in Ecuador, Diego de la Vega entered the United States on a temporary visitor visa in 2001 and stayed illegally.
This former aide to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez decided to self-deport to Colombia amid rising scrutiny over his immigration status.
De la Vega’s departure shines a light on glaring gaps in our immigration enforcement, leaving patriotic Americans wondering about the accountability of our elected officials, Fox News reports.
Those in favor of enforcing our laws may be bewildered as to how de la Vega escaped detection all those years.
Despite being unauthorized to hold paid congressional roles because of his illegal status, he managed to become deeply involved in U.S. politics.
After the failure of the DREAM Act in 2010, de la Vega joined an immigrant rights group and later worked for Ocasio-Cortez, who praised him as “amazing.”
This brings forth the argument of selective application of laws that some believe should apply equally to everyone.
“Diego is amazing. We love him,” AOC has said.
De la Vega’s own words post-deportation provide insights into his motivations.
Critical of the lack of progress in immigration reform, he specifically criticized the Biden administration for failing to capitalize on its control over the House and Senate.
“Protections are going away, regardless of who is in the White House. The strategy hasn’t adapted to the modern era. Biden had a trifecta — the House, Senate and White House, but dropped the ball,” commented de la Vega, cited by The New York Post.
De la Vega candidly spoke about the anxiety he felt growing up due to his immigration status, though he described his New York childhood as mostly positive.
Now in Colombia, he feels fulfilled but acknowledges he might not return to the U.S. for a long time, if ever.
“It’s bittersweet. I hadn’t left the country in 23 years — from age seven to age 30. Now, I can’t go back to the U.S. It feels like exile. It’s a very permanent move,” he said.
Breaking in America: 🚨 AOC's political career is crumbling!
Diego de la Vega was being paid almost $80K a year to be Deputy Communication Director for AOC.
That is still not enough for him to stick around under AOC as he has officially self-deported back to Colombia. pic.twitter.com/Myuh4S17dA
