HUGE: State PURGES 1 Million Ineligible Voters

HAPPENING NOW

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – In a much-needed, enormously commendable move to ensure the honesty of the 2024 election, the GOP-led state of Texas has removed more than one million voters deemed ineligible from its rolls, including thousands who aren’t even US citizens.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican, declared on Monday that the cleanup had been executed over the past several years.

Following the enactment of Senate Bill 1 in September 2021, which Abbott signed into law, state officials have excised over 1.1 million individuals from the voter registers, a statement from his office stated.

The dismissed voters include numerous deceased persons, hundreds of thousands listed as suspense due to uncertain status, and over 100,000 who did not reply to address verification notices, The Daily Caller reports.

Additionally, the purge identified and removed over 6,500 noncitizens from the voter lists.

Governor Abbott emphasized the significance of robust election laws, stating, “Election integrity is essential to our democracy,” and affirmed, “I have signed the strongest election laws in the nation to protect the right to vote and to crackdown on illegal voting.”

“These reforms have led to the removal of over one million ineligible people from our voter rolls in the last three years, including noncitizens, deceased voters, and people who moved to another state,” he added.

“Illegal voting in Texas will never be tolerated. We will continue to actively safeguard Texans’ sacred right to vote while also aggressively protecting our elections from illegal voting,” Abbott underscored.

Senate Bill 1 aimed to enhance the security and integrity of elections, establishing uniform voting hours across Texas, prohibiting drive-through voting, and increasing transparency by allowing closer observation of the voting process by poll watchers.

It also facilitated greater access for those requiring additional assistance at the polls.

Another provision of the law is the ban on unsolicited mail-in ballot applications.

The context of these measures includes a record high of illegal immigration into the US during the Biden-Harris administration, with Texas experiencing significant impacts due to its long border with Mexico.

Official figures from Customs and Border Protection show that since the administration began, over eight million migrants have entered through the US-Mexico border or other ports of entry.

In response, Texas and several other Republican-led states have passed laws empowering local law enforcement to address illegal immigration more stringently, critiquing federal efforts as inadequate.

In GOP-led Virginia, the state attorney general announced in July the removal of 6,000 noncitizens from voter rolls.
