(TheRedAlertNews.com) – In a robust counterattack in defense of Donald Trump, his running mate, JD Vance, has blasted Republicans arguing that the GOP presidential nominee shouldn’t engage in personal attacks on his Democrat opponent, Kamala Harris.
US Senator JD Vance (R-OH) snubbed Republicans warning that slamming Harris might undermine Trump’s chances in the upcoming November election, The Washington Examiner reports.
At a rally near Grand Rapids, Michigan, Vance asserted to reporters that Trump had “earned the right” to campaign in his preferred manner and described Trump’s candid approach as a beneficial asset rather than a hindrance.
Trump has faced criticism lately for deviating from his script and making provocative remarks about Harris’s race and intelligence, which have overshadowed the Republicans’ efforts to depict her as an extremist Democrat.
“To the people who say that Donald Trump should do something different, they had an opportunity to make Donald Trump do something different by challenging him over three separate primaries, every single one of which he won,” Vance retorted.
Republicans have also highlighted Harris’s previous engagements with far-left ideologies.
During her 2020 presidential campaign, Harris adopted stances on crime and immigration that she later renounced.
However, Republicans are concerned that defeating Harris, who has made the electoral contest extremely competitive according to swing state polls, will necessitate a level of message discipline that Trump typically eschews.
In the past day, significant Republican figures including former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy have implored Trump to maintain a strict focus on policy issues. Nevertheless, Vance contested the notion that Trump is distracted, emphasizing that the former president is actively addressing Harris’s policy decisions at his rallies.
“Look, if you listen to what Donald J. Trump says, what I say, we are prosecuting the case against Kamala Harris on policy. We’re reminding people that Donald Trump delivered peace and prosperity, and Kamala Harris has delivered war all over the world and unaffordable groceries and housing here at home,” he explained.
However, the Republican narrative has been complicated by a series of unfavorable headlines. Trump recently caused a furor by inaccurately claiming Harris had fabricated her African American identity and alleging her campaign manipulated artificial intelligence to enhance her appearance at events.
Yet, Vance highlighted that Trump’s straightforward manner is precisely what endeared him to voters in 2016, seizing the opportunity to critique Harris for not participating in an interview early in her presidential campaign.
“The reason people love him is because he’s his own man. He lets the American people see who he is,” Vance proclaimed about Trump.
