(TheRedAlertNews.com) – As the time draws closer when most political observers believe former President Donald J. Trump will announce that he will seek the presidency again in 2024, leftists are seemingly looking for new reasons to reignite their outrage at the man all polls show could beat Biden or any other Democrat in just two short years from now.
The latest outrage in the opinion of Democrats is that today Trump will speak at the National Rifle Association’s conference in Houston, Texas, just days after one of the deadliest school shootings in American history took place at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, killing 19 fourth-graders and their two teachers.
As CNBC notes:
“Former President Donald Trump will deliver a headline speech in support of gun rights at a National Rifle Association event in Houston on Friday, days after a shooting massacre at a Texas elementary school stoked a fervent push to strengthen firearm laws…
“Trump confirmed on social media on Wednesday afternoon that he would not cancel his appearance at the NRA’s annual “Leadership Forum” in light of the shooting. He suggested that he would offer “real solutions and real leadership” in his address at the NRA’s self-described ‘celebration of Second Amendment rights.'” [emphasis added]
In addition to a host of Democrats — including President Joe Biden and United States Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer — criticizing Trump and other Republican officials for speaking at the NRA conference, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, a Democrat, said, “The greater question is why are elected officials speaking there, and what message does that send. You can’t pray and send condolences on one day and go and champion guns on the next.”
