NEW: 12 Dead, Over 100 Injured

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – According to the Daily Caller, during the Juneteenth holiday weekend, a series of shootings across the U.S. resulted in 12 fatalities and over 100 injuries, based on various news sources.

Incidents of gunfire occurred across several cities. In Baltimore, six individuals were injured. Meanwhile, the Willowbrook neighborhood of Chicago saw 23 people wounded, and six teenagers were shot in Milwaukee. In St. Louis, a juvenile was fatally shot, and nine others were injured at a nighttime party, per CNN’s report.

In Chicago, a large gathering of people became the scene of a shooting incident. Twenty-three people were wounded, and one person died. According to ABC News, the reason behind this violence and any arrests are yet to be confirmed.

At the end of a Juneteenth celebration in Milwaukee, six teenagers were shot, as reported by USA Today. The victims comprised four girls, aged 14, 16, 17, and 18, and two boys, aged 17 and 19.

Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson stressed that the incident occurred after the Juneteenth celebration. He expressed his distress over the unacceptable nature of the incident, which took place in the heart of the community. Police investigations reveal that the 17-year-old boy injured in the shooting is the primary suspect, believed to have fired shots following a disagreement among the girls.

In Baltimore, a police officer on duty Friday night heard gunshots and discovered six people injured. The Associated Press reported that all victims are expected to recover from their non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Three victims were transported to the hospital in ambulances, and the other three arrived on their own with gunshot wounds.

In St. Louis, a party turned violent around 1:00 a.m., leading to the death of a juvenile and injuries to 10 others, CNN reported. The suspect, a 17-year-old, is currently in police custody, Chief Robert Tracy confirmed.

St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones expressed sympathy for the families impacted by the violence. She stressed the long-term physical and emotional impacts that these violent incidents would leave on the victims. A teenage girl who was part of the St. Louis incident sustained severe spinal injuries as she fled the scene.

The St. Louis Police Department stated that officers saw a large crowd fleeing a building on Washington Street after the incident. Several firearms, including AR-style pistols and a handgun, were found at the scene. The gun was in the suspect’s possession when plainclothes detectives apprehended him.
