(TheRedAlertNews.com) – The pro-left judicial onslaught against Donald Trump’s allies is still going on despite the outcome of the 2024 election, as Rudy Giuliani finds himself threatened by a federal judge with contempt charges in a defamation case involving two Georgia election workers.
The former New York City Mayor is accused of withholding assets from them, defying a standing court order.
A federal judge has ordered Rudy Giuliani to relinquish his luxury apartment and other assets to Ruby Freeman and Wandrea “Shaye” Moss, two Georgia election workers he defamed.
Freeman and Moss won $148 million in damages after a Washington jury ruled in their favor in December 2023.
The ruling stems from Giuliani’s false accusations that the pair attempted to steal the 2020 presidential election.
This ongoing legal drama has resulted in mounting tension. U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman ordered Giuliani to comply by October 22, yet compliance remains elusive, CBS News reports.
The court deemed his excuses of asset misplacement “farcical,” as Giuliani continues to play a cat-and-mouse game with the law.
Judge Liman has lamented, “All the property must be turned over to the receiver and if not, I will hold him in contempt.”
Rudy Giuliani maintains that he will meet all legal obligations to turn over the necessary assets, despite accusations of asset shuffling.
His legal team asserts that Freeman and Moss are being excessively punitive, citing demands such as a sentimental watch belonging to Giuliani’s grandfather.
His lawyer argues these actions reflect a vindictive pursuit, rather than a quest for justice.
Despite Giuliani’s assertions, legal parameters are tightening around him.
The bankruptcy court dismissed his Chapter 11 plea for lacking a complete financial picture, stripping him of some legal protections.
Meanwhile, Freeman and Moss are aiming to seize not just his Manhattan co-op but also his 1980 Mercedes, sports memorabilia, and various cash accounts.
“He’s not going to be in contempt if he’s made efforts and it’s impossible to comply with the order, but that’s the standard that he’s going to be held to,” Liman said further.
Judge Liman’s sharp critique of Giuliani’s alleged ignorance of his asset locations highlights the gravity of this case.
As Freeman and Moss’s legal representation actively endeavors to seize the prized possessions, the former mayor’s stance on defamation persists as he denies allegations of voter fraud against the workers.
