Pastor OUT – SHOCKING Details Emerge

( – A massive public scandal has erupted in Texas as the senior pastor of a Dallas-based megachurch resigned following a confession he has made regarding “inappropriate sexual behavior” with a girl who was 12 years old at the time.

Pastor Robert Morris of Gateway Church has admitted “inappropriate sexual behavior with a young lady” that occurred 35 years ago.

He acknowledged the conduct, which, according to the woman involved, amounted to criminal sexual abuse when she was 12 years old, USA Today reports.

Morris, who had a congregation exceeding 100,000 active attendees and once served as a spiritual adviser to former President Donald Trump, announced his resignation shortly after Cindy Clemishire, now 54, publicly accused him of starting to molest her when she was 12 and he was 21.

Clemishire expressed on Tuesday that she was no longer afraid to speak out.

Morris, aged 62, provided a statement on Sunday to the local Dallas news station WFAA-TV.

“It was kissing and petting and not intercourse, but it was wrong. This behavior happened on several occasions over the next few years… Since that time, I have walked in purity and accountability in this area,” the pastor said.

Initially, the church supported Morris but opted to announce his resignation amid mounting public backlash.

The church’s board of elders clarified in a statement to the media that they had previously believed the pastor’s actions to be an “extramarital relationship” with a “young lady,” which they did not interpret as the abuse of a child.

“We are heartbroken and appalled by what has come to light over the past few days, and we express our deep sympathy to the victim and her family,” they stated.

The allegations surfaced publicly after Clemishire recounted her experience to the Wartburg Watch, a blog dedicated to issues of sexual abuse within the church.

Clemishire detailed that she first met Morris during a youth revival in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Morris, then 20, was a traveling evangelist with his wife, Debbie.

He would occasionally preach at Clemishire’s church, and during some visits, he and his family would stay at her home.

Describing him as initially “safe and friendly,” Clemishire recounted a troubling shift on Christmas in 1982.

Morris, she said, invited her to his room, where he sexually abused her and sternly cautioned her to keep silent about the incident to avoid ruining everything.

She disclosed that the abuse continued in both Oklahoma and Texas until 1987, eventually confiding in a close friend and her parents.

The Gateway Church website notes Morris’s 44 years of marriage to his wife Debbie, with whom he has three children.

Morris also has a significant media presence with a television program broadcasted in over 190 countries and a radio show aired in more than 6,800 cities.
