(TheRedAlertNews.com) – Former Vice President Mike Pence is making headlines for his public criticism of his former boss, former President Donald Trump.
In a recent interview with NBC’s Ali Vitali, Pence stated that the 2024 Republican presidential field would offer “better choices” than Trump.
Pence went on to say, “I think the times call for different leadership.”
Pence expressed confidence that Republican primary voters would choose the right candidate for the nation’s current moment in history, someone who can provide both the policies and leadership style needed to bring the country back together.
Pence’s recent comments are part of a larger trend of the former Vice President becoming increasingly vocal in his criticism of Trump.
After the poor showing of Trump-endorsed candidates in the 2022 Elections, Pence condemned the former president’s actions surrounding the January 6 Capitol riots.
In an interview on Face The Nation, Pence stated that Trump’s words and actions on that day were “reckless” and “endangered” his family and others in the Capitol.
Additionally, in a recent speech, Pence further denounced Republicans who have turned a blind eye to Russia, stating, “There can be no room in the leadership of the Republican Party for apologists for Putin.”
He has not formally declared his candidacy for the 2024 presidential race but has been actively establishing his public profile through a media blitz and by quietly meeting with financial donors.
So far, only Trump, his former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, and entrepreneur and author Vivek Ramaswamy have announced their campaigns for the Republican nomination.
Ramaswamy, the author of “Woke Inc.” has stated that he is launching a political campaign and a cultural movement to create a new American Dream about more than just money but also the pursuit of excellence.
Pence’s new memoir, “So Help Me God,” sheds new light on January 6 and has been the subject of his recent promotional tour.
There can be no doubt the former Vice President’s recent media appearances and public criticism of Trump and other Republicans indicate that he is positioning himself as a potential candidate for the 2024 presidential race.
