(TheRedAlertNews.com) – The FBI paid nearly $3.5 million for Twitter’s censorship collusion, according to the latest revelations from the “Twitter Files,” internal corporate records released by the platform’s new owner Elon Musk.
Earlier batches of “Twitter Files” disclosed that the social media’s previous management collaborated with Joe Biden’s presidential campaign in 2020 to censor the first stories based on materials from Hunter Biden’s lost “laptop from hell.”
Breitbart News reported that the newly leaked documents showed that the FBI gave Twitter more than $3.4 million for “administrative costs” because Twitter staffers spent time fulfilling the feds’ demands.
“[FBI agents] discredited factual information about Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings both after and *before* The New York Post revealed the contents of his laptop on October 14, 2020,” showed the new Twitter Files as reported by journalist Michael Shellenberger.
He wrote the federal agents collaborated with Twitter’s top management in order “to censor and disparage the Post’s reporting on evidence of now-President Joe Biden’s personal business involvement with corrupt and adversarial regimes in Europe and Asia, in the run-up to the 2020 election.”
According to Schellenberger, there was “an organized effort by representatives of the intelligence community (IC), aimed at senior executives at news and social media companies” to defame the factually correct stories based on Hunter Biden’s laptop.
He noted that the FBI had had the “laptop from hell” for nearly an entire year before The New York Post got it, and its agents were aware that the computer and the stories based on its materials were authentic.
Shellenberger pointed out that many Twitter executives were former FBI agents themselves. The agency worked to convince them to “embrace the narrative” the materials “showing the Biden family earning tens of million dollars from Eastern European oligarchs and the Chinese Communist Party” were a Russian disinformation campaign.
The journalist stressed Twitter’s censorship was based on that allegation, which was also “adopted by virtually all of legacy media” ahead of Election Day 2020.
“During all of 2020, the FBI and other law enforcement agencies repeatedly primed [Twitter’s head of trust and safety] Yoel Roth to dismiss reports of Hunter Biden’s laptop as a Russian’ hack and leak’ operation,” Shellenberger found.
That was even though Roth himself “pushed back” against the FBI demands by stating the platform had seen “very little Russian activity.
The official reimbursement that Twitter got from the FBI for “administrative cost” was precisely $3,415,323, according to one of the newly leaked documents.
“The information released as part of the Twitter Files gives the impression that the left-wing Silicon Valley giant profited by censoring information and opinions that the FBI took issue with, including the Hunter Biden laptop story,” Breitbart News concluded.
