SNL Staff Boycotting Show Hosted by Dave Chappelle

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – Staff writers of the NBC program Saturday Night Live are boycotting the upcoming episode, which is set to be hosted by comedian Dave Chappelle, according to reports.

The writers’ boycott of Chappelle is because he jokes about “transgender” individuals, leading transgender activists to attack him for “transphobia.”

So much so that SNL writers have become “so furious” by the decision to have the comedian host this week’s episode, according to Breitbart News.

“They’re not going to do the show,” an unnamed source from SNL has told Page Six.

“But none of the actors are boycotting,” the source added.

Besides frequently joking about transgender people, Chappelle has also declared his conviction that gender is rooted in biological sex.

The comedian has also publicly supported British writer JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, who transgender activists have attacked.

“They cancelled JK Rowling, they started calling her a TERF. I didn’t even know what that was, but I know that trans people make up words to win arguments… I’m team TERF,” Chappelle wrote on Twitter last year.

“Gender is a fact; this is a fact,” he said at the time. “Every human being in this room, every human being on Earth, had to pass through the legs of a woman to be on Earth, this, is, a, fact,” the comedian declared during his special “The Closer,” also last year.

The special outraged leftists and their anger even prevented the venue where he performed it from getting named “The Dave Chappelle Theater.”

At the same time, a Chappelle representative dismissed the allegations that some of the SNL writers were boycotting the upcoming episode.

“There was no evidence of a boycott. The room was full of writers. They all pitched ideas, and they seemed very excited about it… Dave is looking to have some fun,” the comedian’s rep told Page Six.

Yet, when the announcement came that Chappelle would be hosting an upcoming SNL episode, Celeste Yim, one of the show’s writers, posted an “anti-transphobia” message on Instagram Stories without mentioning the comedian by name.

“I’m trans and non-binary. I use they/them pronouns. Transphobia is murder and it should be condemned,” Yim wrote.

Before this week’s SNL episode, Chappelle had hosted the show twice, and in 2017 even won an Emmy Award.

Given the show’s weak ratings, NBC could be hoping that a controversial host will get more viewers to tune in,” Breitbart News commented.
