Swindell, 59, who is renowned for his role in leading the Arizona Diamondbacks to their 2001 World Series victory, posted a distressing message on Sunday.
In it, he disclosed that his daughter Brenna, a single mother of three, has been missing since last Thursday from the Austin, Texas area and has since been unreachable, The Daily Caller reports.
Swindell’s post was accompanied by a photograph of Brenna, revealing his profound worry about her wellbeing, especially considering her tumultuous relationship with a former boyfriend.
This individual, depicted in the photograph shared by Swindell, is currently sought by law enforcement following allegations of an assault against Brenna that reportedly occurred in July.
“Her phone is off and she has not been in contact with family, friends, and most importantly her children. Her ex-boyfriend in the photo has a warrant and is violent so PLEASE if you have seen or heard from either one of them, let us know,” he wrote.
He then provided a description of the vehicle his daughter was last seen driving and confirmed that he had officially reported her as a missing person to the authorities.
His message conveyed a desperate hope for her safety, emphasizing, “Brennie, if you see this, we all love you so much and need you home!”
As the situation developed, Swindell provided updates to his initial post. He shared his fears about the circumstances of Brenna’s disappearance.
“We don’t know if she went with him willingly, was talked into running away with him, or what. I still feel she would never abandon her 3 children or just take off without explanation. So until we can prove otherwise, we feel she is in danger,” he concluded.
The search appeared to gain a lead when it was revealed that Brenna and her ex-boyfriend were last seen together on Thursday night.
Swindell reported that a GPS tracker had been activated on Brenna’s Kia, which was now traced to Colorado. He noted, “Both phones seem to be there but both are turned off.”
In a subsequent update, Swindell shared, “All we know about the car is that it went through a reader in Colorado on 1-25 Friday evening. DPS has been working on it the best they can. Because the GPS isn’t on and no cell phones are on, there is no science exactly where the car is by now.”
The search for Brenna remains active, and authorities, along with Swindell, urge anyone with information to come forward and assist in resolving this distressing mystery.
UPDATE: She has been found. No details have been released at this time.
