(TheRedAlertNews.com) – Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott is outraged that President Joe Biden only saw a “sanitized” version of the massive illegal alien crisis when he visited the US-Mexican border on Sunday.
In a Fox News interview on Monday, Abbott promised his administration would continue to fight Biden’s Cabinet on issues such as the border wall and extra security measures.
The GOP Governor of Texas also revealed that during his “cordial” meeting with Biden, he gave the president a set of five simple steps to tackle the border crisis.
“I pointed out those five specific proposals that do not require any new passage of law, that only require the president to enforce issues that have already been enacted into law by the United States Congress that would stop the flow of illegal immigration between the points of entry,” Abbott explained.
He emphasized it was “outrageous” the streets of the border city of El Paso had been cleaned up before the Democrat president’s visit, meaning the latter didn’t see the actual migrant crisis.
“I asked the president to go down and see for himself where people are crossing the border illegally. Obviously, he did not do that,” the Texas governor noted.
Some 6 million illegal aliens – including over 1 million gotaways – have invaded the United States since Biden became president.
Abbot argued in his interview that his deployment of the Texas National Guard had brought down the number of illegal border crossings.
“One reason why there are fewer people crossing the border in El Paso right now is that I deployed our Texas National Guard to the area where they were crossing. And because we put up barriers, including razor wire walls, fences, and containers,” the governor explained.
He dwelled on his administration’s decisiveness to fight a Biden administration order to remove empty shipping containers that Texas put up – like neighboring Arizona – as makeshift border wall barriers.
“I challenged them to get us to take it down. We want to battle them because I believe I have the authority to do what we are doing on the border because of Article One, Section 10. And we want to litigate this issue and prove that Texas does have the authority to undertake the actions that I’m undertaking, which are unprecedented for a state to secure not only our state but the entire country,” Abbott elaborated.
On Sunday, when Biden came to El Paso, Texas, on the first proper border visit in his nearly 50-year political career, the governor handed him a letter slamming his illegal immigration politics.
In the letter, Abbott stated that the presidential visit was “$20 billion too little and two years too late”. At the same time, it also “sidesteps the thousands of angry Texas property owners whose lives have been destroyed by [Biden’s] border policies.”
“Your open-border policies have emboldened the cartels, who grow wealthy by trafficking deadly fentanyl and even human beings. Texans are paying an especially high price for your failure, sometimes with their very lives, as local leaders from your own party will tell you if given the chance,” the Texas Governor’s letter said.
