The video captured on Friday night depicts the punks hastily removing items from shelves, vaulting over the counter, and destroying the store.
The Los Angeles Police Department reported that the chaos erupted around 8 p.m. at a location on the 8500 block of Olympic Boulevard.
It appears the teenagers arrived and departed the scene on bicycles within minutes. Fortunately, there were no injuries, and no arrests have been made at this juncture, ABC7 Los Angeles reports.
In a separate but possibly related pattern of criminal activity, several 7-Elevens throughout Los Angeles County were subjected to armed robberies.
These incidents occurred as part of a troubling trend of targeted assaults on convenience stores. Police indicated that the latest series of armed robberies occurred in the San Gabriel Valley.
In one instance, law enforcement responded to a distress call from a 7-Eleven at the intersection of Rosemead Boulevard and Duarte Road in East San Gabriel shortly after midnight on Monday.
Witnesses reported that three masked individuals, equipped with firearms, forcibly entered the store.
Two of these individuals brandished their weapons at the clerk while the third ransacked the cash register, with the culprits escaping with roughly $300.
The store’s manager recounted a particularly harrowing moment, stating, “the suspect who was pointing the gun at the clerk’s head was ordered by another suspect to shoot him.”
Approximately two hours prior to this robbery, another armed trio targeted a 7-Eleven on Duarte Road in Monrovia, though details regarding the stolen amount or items remain unclear.
The prevalence of suspicious activity in the vicinity of these crimes was noted by several locals.
A former police officer turned security guard, identified only as Jerry, shared his observations with KTLA 5, noting the presence of questionable individuals and activities, particularly after midnight.
He expressed his dismay, stating, “I’m ashamed of what happened here.”
Further complicating the series of events, another robbery occurred at a 7-Eleven on East Huntington Drive in the City of Duarte early Sunday morning.
This incident involved a single perpetrator who fled on foot, with ongoing investigations yet to confirm any connections among these three robberies.
These incidents follow a troubling month where three separate 7-Eleven stores in L.A. County were targeted within an hour on the same night, alongside three additional robberies in Long Beach.
