(TheRedAlertNews.com) – A day after he was arraigned, former President Donald Trump urged congressional Republicans to defund the US Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), at least temporarily.
On Tuesday, Trump went to a New York City court for his arraignment after Manhattan’s Democrat DA Alvin Bragg got a grand jury to indict the former president.
Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying financial records over the alleged 2016 hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels so she wouldn’t reveal she and the future president had an affair in 2006.
“REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS SHOULD DEFUND THE DOJ AND FBI UNTIL THEY COME TO THEIR SENSES,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Wednesday.
He insisted that the Democratic Party has weaponized law enforcement and is thus trying to interfere in the 2024 presidential election.
“THE DEMOCRATS HAVE TOTALLY WEAPONIZED LAW ENFORCEMENT IN OUR COUNTRY AND ARE VICIOUSLY USING THIS ABUSE OF POWER TO INTERFERE WITH OUR ALREADY UNDER SIEGE ELECTIONS!” Trump added in his all-caps post.
His call for defunding the DOJ and the FBI came after, on Tuesday evening, he denounced his arraignment in a speech before a crowd at his home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.
While the former president was inside the courthouse in NYC, anti-Trump activists sparked clashes with his supporters, Breitbart News reports.
Thus, an anti-Trump activist wearing Black Lives Matter (BLM) patches yelled, “Trump’s a dick!”
Another woman painted in white shouted that white people are racist while seeking to provoke trouble within the crowd. She was confronted about why she was instigating violence and responded:
“Because I’m black and I like violence. I’m an animal. I’m a black animal! Let’s kill all white people! Yeah, baby!”
A person claiming to be her friend alleged the woman was participating in “performance art.”
The report notes that Republicans seem to agree that Democrats have weaponized the federal government against conservatives. According to a recent Insider Advantage poll, 79% of GOP voters believe that.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has directly accused Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg of “weaponiz[ing] our sacred justice system” against former President Donald Trump.
“[Bragg is] attempting to interfere in our democratic process by invoking federal law to bring politicized charges against President Trump, admittedly using federal funds, while at the same time arguing that the peoples’ representatives in Congress lack jurisdiction to investigate this farce,” McCarthy said on Tuesday.
In that same statement, McCarthy warned the weaponization of the federal justice process “will be held accountable by Congress.”
