Trump Scores Major Court Victory

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – In another courtroom victory for former President Donald Trump, a judge has dropped the contempt of court finding previously imposed on the likely 2024 GOP presidential candidate.

New York Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron ruled that he was dropping the contempt finding as long as Trump pays a $110,000 fine to the New York attorney general’s office for failing to comply with a subpoena for specific business records the attorney general is demanding.

Additionally, Trump’s attorneys in the matter must submit additional information to the judge about what steps they have taken to comply with his order that Trump obeys the subpoena for his records.

Legal experts say this is a victory for Trump, as last month the judge found Trump in contempt and ordered him to pay $10,000 a day until he complied. With the new ruling, Trump is no longer in contempt, and additional fines have been stayed.

Further, Trump can continue to appeal the original contempt ruling and the judge’s order that Trump personally testifies in the attorney general’s investigation.

The attorney general is investigating whether Trump and his company, the Trump Organization, committed fraud by repeatedly inflating the value of its assets over the years for financial gain.

While the case will continue, Trump has scored a significant victory by having the contempt ruling set aside.
