(TheRedAlertNews.com) – In an unexpected twist, Senator Bernie Sanders, typically a staunch critic of Donald Trump, surprised many by recognizing the former president’s efforts to tackle illegal immigration and the fentanyl crisis.

Sanders’ remarks shake the foundation of Democrat strategies, begging the question: Will this open acknowledgment start a ripple effect in the leftist agenda?
Appearing on ABC News’s “This Week,” Sanders discussed the importance of border security and controlling the flow of fentanyl.
While speaking with host Jonathan Karl, Sanders uncharacteristically admitted, “nobody thinks that illegal immigration is appropriate.”
He emphasized the critical need for comprehensive immigration reform, acknowledging a shared goal despite ideological differences.
Sanders, while advocating for reforms, also backs stricter border control and actions against fentanyl infiltration.
He recognized Trump’s decisive stance on making borders stronger, explicitly stating, “I mean, I think cracking down on fentanyl, making sure our borders are stronger.”
Despite his acknowledgment of Trump’s efforts, Sanders warned against mass deportations, highlighting the essential work done by undocumented immigrants in sectors like agriculture.
He called for guest worker programs and comprehensive immigration reform as viable solutions.
Jon Karl: Is there anything that you think Trump has done right?
Bernie Sanders: Yeah. I mean, I think cracking down on fentanyl, making sure our borders are stronger. Look, nobody thinks illegal immigration is appropriate, and I happen to think we need comprehensive immigration… pic.twitter.com/TZFCo0ve0g

Sanders’ stance contrasts sharply with positions held during his 2020 campaign when he proposed breaking up ICE and CBP, halting deportations, and ending the border wall.
However, the senator now castigates the Biden administration, admitting it should have handled immigration more effectively.
Sanders’ recent activities include a “Fighting Oligarchy Tour” with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
While touring states like Nevada and Arizona, Ocasio-Cortez emphasized inclusivity and solidarity, drawing large crowds, including over 30,000 attendees in Denver.
“Because I got news for you: Trump’s billionaire friends are not going to pick the crops in California that feed us. They’re not going to work in meat-packing houses. That’s what undocumented people are doing. So we need a variety of programs, guest worker programs, but mostly comprehensive immigration reform,” Sanders declared.
His comments indicate a possible ideological shift, aligning him with Trump on key issues like border security.
As Sanders questions leftist policies, it may signal a substantial change in how systemic immigration challenges are addressed, potentially transforming future political dialogues.
