(TheRedAlertNews.com) – In a stunning display of what many are calling bald-faced lying to try and help his son, during an interview on CNN, President Joe Biden made a wildly false claim about Hunter Biden lying on an application to purchase a firearm when he was a drug addict.
You can watch the video clip of Joe Biden further down this post.
During the CNN interview, Jake Tapper asked President Biden:
“Prosecutors think they have enough to charge your son Hunter for tax crimes and a false statement about a gun purchase. Personally and politically, how do you react to that?” [emphasis added]
In response, Biden stated:
“Well, first of all, I’m proud of my son. This is a kid who got, uh, not a kid, he’s a grown man. He got hooked on — like many families have had happen — hooked on drugs. He’s overcome that. He’s established a new life. I’m confident that what he says and does are consistent with what happens. For example, he wrote a book about his problems and was straightforward about it. I’m proud of him. He came along and said, by the way, this thing about a gun, I didn’t know anything about it, but it turns out that when he made application to purchase a gun, what happened was he, you get asked the question ‘Are you on drugs or use drugs?’ He said ‘no.’ And he wrote about saying ‘no’ in his book. I have great confidence in my son. I love him. And he’s on the straight and narrow, and he has been for a couple of years now, and I am just so proud of him.” [emphasis added]
As The Washington Post points out:
“At issue is when Biden answered ‘no’ on the sixth question on the form when purchasing a gun on Oct. 12, 2018: ‘Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?‘…
“Biden had been discharged five years earlier from the Navy Reserve for drug use. According to a memoir published in 2021, he was actively using crack cocaine in the year he bought the gun.” [emphasis added]
The Post then provides great detail, written mainly by Hunter Biden in his book, about Hunter’s now well-known addiction to crack cocaine.
As one political observer noted, “Clearly, Joe was trying to soft-pedal Hunter’s demonstrably false and criminal answer on the federal gun purchase form.”
What is your opinion? Do you think Hunter Biden should be charged criminally for making a false statement when he purchased a gun while addicted to and consistently using crack cocaine? Please share your thoughts and views by emailing [email protected]. Thank you.
