(TheRedAlertNews.com) – In a new demonstration of her seeming lack of principles and morals, Democrat presidential hopeful Kamala Harris used her first TV interview since clinching the nomination to claim that her “values have not changed” even though she is shamelessly changing her policy stances.

During an interview on CNN, Harris, aged 59, articulated her stance on various policy reversals amid Republican scrutiny over her authenticity regarding shifts toward moderate views on immigration, healthcare, and energy policies as the November 5 election approaches.
“I think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed,” Harris conveyed to Dana Bash, marking her first media engagement since President Biden withdrew from the race on July 21.
The vice president repeatedly used this phrase throughout the hour-long interview to counter accusations of political opportunism, The New York Post reports.
Harris has distanced herself from her previous commitments, such as abolishing private health insurance, decriminalizing illegal border crossings, prohibiting fracking for oil and natural gas, and stopping the sale of new gasoline-powered vehicles by 2035—stances she adopted in 2019 while competing for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Earlier this month, Harris briefly proposed and then retracted the idea of implementing price controls on groceries after facing broad criticism.
Former President Donald Trump, the Republican candidate, seized this proposal to derogatorily dub her “Comrade Kamala.”
Trump, aged 78, persistently provoked Harris into granting her first interview as a candidate in an effort to conclude her initial period of lenient media coverage.
“I look so forward to Debating Comrade Kamala Harris and exposing her for the fraud she is,” Trump declared on social media following the interview.
“Harris has changed every one of her long held positions, on everything. America will never allow an Election WEAPONIZING MARXIST TO BE PRESIDENT OF THE U.S.,” he added.
In her defense concerning the reversals on banning gasoline-powered vehicles and fracking, Harris emphasized that her prior strong environmental stance was correct due to the urgency of the matter.
“You mentioned the Green New Deal. I have always believed and — I’ve worked on it — that the climate crisis is real, that it is an urgent matter to which we should apply metrics that include holding ourselves to deadlines around time,” Harris explained.
Addressing fracking specifically, Harris tried to clarify her position.
“In 2019, you said, ‘There is no question, I’m in favor of banning fracking.’ … Do you still want to ban fracking?” Bash inquired.
“No. And I made that clear [as Biden’s running mate] on the debate stage in 2020. that I would not ban fracking. As vice president, I did not ban fracking. As president, I will not ban fracking,” Harris responded firmly.
When probed about her shift, Harris reiterated her unchanged values, stating her responsibility to seriously address the climate crisis while maintaining that the achievements under the Inflation Reduction Act prove that environmental goals can be met without banning fracking.
In her role as the point person for Biden on immigration, Harris argued that her efforts had yielded benefits despite a record surge in illegal border crossings over the past three years.
