(TheRedAlertNews.com) – Nancy Pelosi, the Democrat Speaker of the US House of Representatives, was given a cold welcome when she showed up on the stage of a climate change music festival in New York City.
82-year-old Pelosi made a surprise appearance at NYC’s Global Citizen music festival in Central Park Saturday night, The New York Post reported.
Revelers at the concert were caught in social media videos booing and heckling her as she gave a brief political speech.

The California Democrat appeared onstage at the climate change music festival wearing a white pantsuit and scarf.
“As speaker of the house, I am here to thank you for your dazzling advocacy, entrepreneurial thinking, and determination as global citizens,” she told the audience after getting presented.
There was booing from the crowd as soon as she began to talk about the need to cut carbon emissions to fight climate change.
While some audience members cheered her words, others kept heckling and booing her the entire time she spoke.
“It’s thanks to your help that the United States recently enacted historic climate legislation, which will be a game changer,” Pelosi stated to unceasing booing.
“It will slash carbon pollution by 40% by 2030. It will give a historic $370 billion to fight the climate crisis,” Pelosi continued.
“Let’s go!” numerous hecklers were yelling during her speech, seemingly calling for the concert to resume instead of listening to her.
The House speaker tried to speak further about how the new law would bring “better water and air for our children” and “better-paying jobs and lower energy bills for their parents.”
At that point, amid incessant heckling, Pelosi wrapped it up by saying she had promised to keep her speech short to her grandchildren, Paul and Thomas, who were in the audience.
“Thank you, Speaker Pelosi, for recognizing Global Citizens all around the world who took action in support of the new, historic climate legislation in the US!” Global Citizens posted on Twitter to express gratitude for the Democrat’s onstage appearance.
The 2022 edition of the climate change music festival in New York City featured performances by Metallica, Mariah Carey, The Jonas Brothers, and Usher.
Nancy Pelosi also appeared in the 2016 edition of the festival. This year she posed backstage with Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Nick Jonas’ wife, who was one of the festival’s hosts.
