(TheRedAlertNews.com) – More than a year into the presidential administration of Joe Biden, with the Democrats in control of the White House, the United States Senate, and the United States House of Representatives, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is blasting former President Donald Trump as the cause of the skyrocketing inflation that is hurting Americans.

According to Schumer:
“If you wanna get rid of inflation, the only way to do it is to undo a lot of the Trump tax cuts and raise [tax] rates. No Republican is ever gonna do that. So the only way to get rid of inflation is through reconciliation.”
By referring to reconciliation, Schumer is referencing the United States Senate procedure that, under certain circumstances, allows the Senate to pass legislation with a simple majority instead of needing two-thirds (66) for passage.
With the Senate evenly split between Democrats and Republicans, Schumer is signaling that his only chance of getting what he wants — a revocation of the Trump tax cuts and higher tax rates on at least certain segments of the American population — is by a simple majority vote.
Even then, several political analysts say that is unlikely as Schumer would not be able to muster all of the Democrats in the Senate.
