(TheRedAlertNews.com) – Vice President Kamala Harris declared her understanding is that the southern border of the United States, which is seeing an unprecedented illegal immigration crisis, is “secure” and blamed former President Donald Trump for any existing problems.
In an interview this weekend with Chuck Todd on NBC News “Meet the Press,” which was dedicated to the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Harris also insisted that America needs an amnesty and a citizenship path for the illegals.

“We’re going to have two million people cross this border for the first time ever. You’re confident this border’s secure?” the NBC anchor asked the vice president.
“We have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation, including ours and our administration,” Harris replied.
“But there are still a lot of problems that we are trying to fix given the deterioration that happened over the last four years,” she added.
The vice president then insisted that the US Congress ought to adopt a plan to grant citizenship to the “millions of illegals” who have made it to the country.
“We also have to put into place a law and a plan for a pathway for citizenship for the millions of people who are here and are prepared to do what is legally required to gain citizenship. We don’t have that in place because people are playing politics in a state like this and in Congress,” Harris elaborated.
She then blamed the Republicans for the lack of an amnesty program for illegals, emphasizing that “at one time” GOP US senators and even presidents considered giving the illegals American citizenship a “bipartisan issue.”
“I think that there is no question that we have to do what the president and I asked Congress to do, the first request we made: pass a bill to create a pathway to citizenship. The border is secure, but we also have a broken immigration system, in particular, over the last four years before we came in, and it needs to be fixed,” President Joe Biden’s vice president insisted.
The last time the United States enacted a large-scale amnesty for illegal immigrants was in 1986 as a bipartisan consensus in Congress. It was also supported by then US President Ronald Reagan.
Harris’ comments about the “secure” Southern Border and the “need” to grant illegal immigrants US citizenship come amid reports based on Customs and Border Protection data showing that almost 5 million illegal aliens entered the United States in the first 1.5 years of Joe Biden’s presidency.
