(TheRedAlertNews.com) – On a Sunday morning talking head show, John Kirby, a retired rear admiral in the United States Navy who currently serves as Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council in the White House, defended President Joe Biden’s recent comment that the United States is facing the potential of a nuclear Armageddon.

The show host, Martha Raddatz, asked, “Is the president right? Are we facing a potential nuclear Armageddon?” Kirby responded:
“The president was reflecting the very high stakes that are in play right now, Martha. When you have modern nuclear power and the leader of that modern nuclear power willing to use irresponsible rhetoric the way that Mr. Putin has several times in just the last week or two — As well as the high tensions in Ukraine over the course of just the last few days — So the president I think was accurately reflecting the fact that the stakes are very high right now.”
