Witness: Trump Knew Protesters Had Guns

Cassidy Hutchinson

(TheRedAlertNews.com) – In perhaps the most explosive testimony to date before the United States House of Representatives Select Committee investigating events surrounding the protest at the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021, Cassidy Hutchinson, then an aide to White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, testified under oath that former President Donald Trump knew some of the protesters were armed with guns and other weapons when he encouraged the crowd to proceed to the Capitol.

She also testified that Trump got physically violent with the United States Secret Service when they refused to drive him to the Capitol.

As the conservative publication Breitbart News recounts in “Ex-White House aide: Trump knew rioters had weapons, demanded to go to Capitol”:

“Cassidy Hutchinson, a former aide to Mark Meadows, President Donald Trump’s chief of staff, testified Tuesday that Trump demanded to go to the Capitol after his Jan. 6, 2021, speech at the Ellipse and became violent with the Secret Service when they refused

“On the day of the rally, [Hutchinson] said Trump became ‘furious’ that security officials were preventing armed supporters from attending the rally because he was concerned about his crowd size.

“‘I was in the vicinity of a conversation where I heard the president say, ‘I don’t care that they have weapons. They are not here to hurt me. Take the effing mags away. Let my people in. They can march to the Capitol after the rally is over,’ Hutchinson testified, referring to the magnetometers used for security screening.” [emphasis added]

Hutchison’s testimony included numerous references to White House officials being aware that some of the protesters were armed.

The committee also has recordings of law enforcement radio traffic of authorities spotting weapons among the crowd gathered to hear Trump speak that day.
