This dramatic decision underscores Trump’s steadfast critique of an allegedly “Corrupt and Weaponized” Justice Department under President Joe Biden.

President Trump publicly declared the unconditional pardon for Scott Jenkins, claiming Jenkins was unjustly targeted by political opponents wielding the DOJ as a weapon.

Jenkins, sentenced to ten years in federal prison, was accused of accepting bribes to grant deputy badges to unqualified individuals.

Federal prosecutors argued Jenkins collected over $75,000 in bribes, including cash and campaign contributions, for appointing auxiliary deputies.

An FBI investigation exposed Jenkins accepting payments ranging from $5,000 to $20,000, sparking questions of judicial ethics and motive, reports NBC Washington.

Trump, unwavering in his stance, described Jenkins as a “wonderful person,” persecuted by a radical left operating under the Biden administration’s Department of Justice.

The US Attorney’s Office, however, maintained that Jenkins “sold public office for personal gain,” severely undermining public trust.

“This Sheriff is a victim of an overzealous Biden Department of Justice, and doesn’t deserve to spend a single day in jail. He is a wonderful person, who was persecuted by the Radical Left “monsters,” and “left for dead.” This is why I, as President of the United States, see fit to end his unfair sentence, and grant Sheriff Jenkins a FULL and Unconditional Pardon. He will NOT be going to jail tomorrow, but instead will have a wonderful and productive life,” Trump stated.

During Jenkins’ trial, evidence emerged of campaign contributions being redirected to personal accounts, further inflaming suspicions of misconduct.

An FBI informant even recorded conversations between Jenkins and recipients, including a convicted felon he allegedly deputized.

Attempts to contact Jenkins’ legal representation revealed little, as his appeals lawyer remained unreachable.

Within the courtroom, Jenkins held his silence, opting not to comment post-conviction, leaving his proclamation of innocence unreinforced.

Scott Jenkins’ pardon reiterates Trump’s belief in battling what he sees as political persecution and DOJ corruption under Biden.

Trump’s intervention offers Jenkins a reprieve, preserving his liberty against charges stemming from judicial and political adversaries.
